Seize the Weekend Vol.5

Seize the Weekend is a weekly feature on No Place Lyke Home. I have scoured the interwebs looking for five crafts/recipes/projects that are easy to tackle in a weekend. My hope is to inspire you (and myself) to roll up our sleeves and get creative!

1.) The weather is supposed to be simply gorgeous in most of the U.S. this weekend. Soak up spring and share a fancy picnic with someone special.

2.) Warm weather is best paired with citrusy-tart deserts. Try making these (vegan friendly) lemon bars. Recipe and photo from here.

3.) Make some festive shamrock straws for all of the beverages that you may or may not be consuming on Saturday. Hey, I went to school in Chicago - where St. Pat's is a way of life, so I know the drill. Martha shares this seriously easy craft with us here.

4.) Keeping with the St. Patrick's Day by Martha Stewart theme, try out her recipe for corned beef and cabbage. I have it on good authority that this recipe is legit.

5.) Make a sweet chalk board using a tree stump. (FYI, I have seen the tree trunks at Michael's and they carry chalkboard paint at most home improvement and craft stores).

I hope that you have an inspired weekend! If you try out any of the above, please tweet, facebook or email me pictures!
