Christmas Pup

A little dose of Penny cuteness to get you through your Wednesday. My mom got her these PJs and I kind of wish that she could wear them at all times. I tried to carry her around like a baby last night, but she was not having it.

P.S. You wouldn't believe the amount of effort that it took to get this photo.
Most of them look like this:

One Year Old

Today marks Penelope's first birthday. Yesterday we celebrated by spending way too much money on party supplies and torturing Penny with various hats and birthday dresses.

Penelope might be the most rambunctious animal to ever walk this earth. She is always in to something, and more often than not can be found biting at our heals or humping one of our legs. Beyond her wild nature, she is such a loyal animal. She is a daddy's girl who has a thing for snuggling and loves nothing more than our attention.

When those eyes look up at us (you know the ones I'm talking about - pictured on the bottom right) we are rendered powerless... And she knows it. As a woman, I have to give her props for knowing how to work what she's got!

Happy birthday to our little fur ball!

An Explanation

You may have noticed that I've been a little scarce around this place. I'm not going to pile on the excuses, please just know that I have missed sharing myself here.

I've made a conscious effort to maintain this blog as a positive outlet, and not just one more task to add to the list. Some things have come up that may require my posting to be less frequent - but I promise to stop in whenever life permits.

Today, I will be playing nurse to Penelope. She is getting spayed this morning, poor girl. I have to be honest, my stomach is in knots just thinking about her.

If praying is your thing, please send one up for Miss Penny.

Happy Easter

Penny wanted to wish each of you a happy Easter/ Passover/ Weekend/ Whatever it is that you may celebrate :)

Because I can't stop with just one photo of this pup, here are a few more...

We made an attempt to get her into Bunny ears. Fail.

Penny's Easter Best. She looks pleased, doesn't she?

We are heading out for brunch with family and hosting desert, cocktails and an Easter egg hunt at our house afterwards. What are your plans?

A Man & His Dog

Jake and Penny. Penny and Jake. These two are inseparable. In all honesty, I don't feel like the third wheel... I feel incredibly lucky to witness their special bond.

Penelope gets a happy little dance going when Jake walks into the room. I can see the stress of Jake's day melt away when Penny jumps on him and gives him kisses (read: licks his face off).

For a man who hates to shop, Jake could browse the puppy aisle for hours. I would consider Jake to be frugal, but when it comes to Penny, only the best will do.

I couldn't help but smile when I noticed - propped on top of Jake's stash of Sports Illustrated, a copy of Dog World Magazine.

My sweet guy sure knows how to treat a lady.
